Short answer?

Nope 🙂

One of the biggest things parents are surprised by when they arrive at my studio is how fully stocked everything already is.

My Oakley photography studio is designed specifically for newborns and babies, and I provide most of the items used during sessions including:

  • Wraps
  • Blankets
  • Layers
  • Baskets
  • Props
  • Headbands
  • Bonnets
  • Accessories
  • Backdrops
  • Styling pieces

Parents truly do not need to stress about bringing Pinterest-worthy props to create beautiful images…mostly just because I’ve probably already purchased them 🙂

Can I Bring Personal Or Sentimental Items?

Absolutely.

I love incorporating meaningful pieces whenever possible.

Some popular sentimental items include:

  • Family heirlooms
  • Handmade blankets
  • Military items
  • Sports items
  • Wedding veils
  • Stuffed animals
  • Cultural items
  • Special jewelry
  • Meaningful books
  • Keep small in mind! Baby’s look precious when they’re able to hold or grasp trinkets etc…

So What Should I Actually Bring?

For most newborn sessions, I recommend bringing:

  • Extra bottles or feeding supplies if applicable
  • Your pump if pumping, that way we’re not interrupting your established schedule (there are private areas within my studio you’re welcome to use)
  • A pacifier, even if baby rarely uses one
  • Extra diapers
  • Any sentimental items you’d like included
  • Snacks for siblings if they’re participating (I usually have some snacks and water on hand in the studio, as well as a few boxes of toys for bored siblings!)

That’s usually it 🙂

The Goal Is A Stress-Free Experience

One of the reasons many families choose a full-service newborn photographer is because they don’t want to figure everything out themselves during those exhausting early weeks.

My goal is to create a calm, welcoming experience where parents can walk in, relax, and feel taken care of.
